“In 2010, the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education voted to adopt the new Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks, which incorporate the Common Core State Standards where they meet or exceed the Massachusetts standards. This spring, many schools throughout the Commonwealth administered the PARCC (Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College & Careers) field tests. In recent months, a number of questions about these key education topics have arisen from members of the legislature.”
The following is the presentation given at a Legislative Forum today (6.25.14) by Mitchell Chester and Bob Bickerton on the transition to the 2011 Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks as well as the field-testing of PARCC. Below is the current breakdown of the number of districts choosing PARCC or MCAS for the spring assessment in 2015.
